Life Builders Hospital & Alakuko Clinic

Rapid progress has been made on the construction work for the Alakuko Hospital Clinic. As pictured, additional infrastructure that was not there last December when the US team came can now be seen in the front of the main building. The painting started last week while the landscaping is ongoing. The solar panel installation has been completed but not fully paid for yet. We are yet to buy furniture and other laboratory equipment. Our hope is to commission the building in early May. The people in the community are eagerly waiting for us to open the doors.

Life Builders Academy

March was another interesting month for all parents, teachers and students of Life builders Academy as we marked our annual Inter-house Sport Activities in grand style. It was a great opportunity to showcase the talents of our students as well as fellowship with other schools in the neighborhood. Parents of the students were given “houses” and helped sponsor the event. Activities included an annual sports competition and show. It was fun and lively and a great event hosted by Life Builders Academy.

Sponsored Orphan Success Story

Congratulations to recent graduate, Adigun Benjamen Aduragbemi, who now runs his own engineering business. After his father passed away in 2006, Life Builders took Benjamen under their wing where he flourished. Thanks to his generous sponsor, Benjamen’s school fees and meals were paid for from elementary through secondary school. In 2017, his mother passed away during his WAEC Entrance Exam for college. During this difficult time, Life Builders took care of his school fees and basic needs.

Benjamen gained admission into Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Bachelor of Education in Economics. Through mentorship through the Life Builders Small Business Loan Program, he learned how to become an independent entrepreneur and started his own engineering business through his school. Benjamen is now the Departmental President of OOU and holds two bachelors degrees. We couldn’t be more proud of him.

A Letter From Pastor Emmanuel

God told the people of Israel to move forward and make progress after staying too long in the same spot. The Lord our God said to us at Horeb, “You have stayed long enough at this mountain,” (Deuteronomy 1:6). He wanted them to make progress in their journey to the promised land. God does not delight in our stagnation as individuals or as an organization. We are expected to make good progress on a regular basis. However, progress in life is a function of both hard work and God’s help. It is not just by hard work alone. There are many people who are very hardworking but the results do not match their efforts. We need God’s help in all we do in life. Even when we have all it takes to make progress in life, we must always acknowledge Him as the source and sustainer of our success.
